SWITCH OFF 20 YEARS

8:30pm local time Saturday 28 March 2026

Earth Hour has grown to become much more than switching your lights off, but that iconic switch-off moment is still an important part of Earth Hour. In 2026, we'll be celebrating the 20th year of Earth Hour! Millions of participants around the world will switch off their lights at 8:30 pm local time on Saturday 28th March to demonstrate their support of the environment. This action is symbolic and is not an action to save power. We know it will take so much more than an hour of turning our lights out to have a measurable impact on climate change, but the action helps to bring greater awareness to the issue and demonstrates your commitment to help protect the planet – both during and beyond Earth Hour.

Together, let's create the Biggest Hour for Earth!

Earth Hour is at 8:30pm local time Saturday 28 March 2026.

Helping Koalas

Koalas are in crisis

Did you know koalas were officially listed as endangered in parts of Australia in 2022? Australia has the highest rate of deforestation in the developed world, destroying critial koala habitat and pushing their populations into decline. Without urgent action, their numbers will continue to fall. Your donation can help plant trees, protect habitats and give koalas a fighting chance. Donate today to help protect the future of one of Australia's most beloved animals.
